It was in May 1993 when I first walked to the Markaz campus holding my mother's hand and since I was a back bencher in my village school, I didn't even think that I can pass my 10th standard exam that time. But by the grace of almighty, that transition was something astounding as it became a turning point in my life which enabled me to face many obstacles and challenges later in my career with true energy and optimism. The life at Raihan Valley has transformed not only me but thousands of orphans to become highly competent, enthusiastic and dynamic personalities with moral values and social commitments and ultimately to be something meaningful or successful in life. Thurkiyya was not merely an orphanage, but it was everything for us as the resources that this institution provided with true love were more than sufficient in the form of accommodation, delicious food, books, dress, medicine, moral and modern education, guidance and more over the pleasure and happiness that each inmates enjoyed during their time here. Needless to say about the happiness we felt when we see the charming face of our beloved father and founder of the the institution, respected Usthad in the campus on different occasions. It is normal to think on such occasions that Allah has blessed thousands of these orphans by giving them a lovely and caring father who spends his entire for the betterment of the society. That was the time when I understood that sometimes there exist noble human relations more than that one experience from his genetic relationship, Masha Allah. We also have been blessed to have thousands of brothers to list in life as we ate, played, studied, slept and helped together and sometimes did quarrel each other as true siblings. Alhamdulillah, we the thousands of alumni from this marvellous institution are leading busy life, doing their own job and services all over the world. I am sure nobody can find out suitable words or phrases in any dictionary to thank for their life in this campus. Let almighty Allah bless all the well-wishers who have extended and still extending their helping hands for the growth and day to day activities of this institutions, with great Barakath. I am much delighted to be a product of this amazing campus and extending my sincere supports and hearty wishes to the activities of its alumni organization OSMO.

When myriads of children like me ended up with no other means for a decent education, Markaz embraced us all with open arms, and reforged our lost hopes into a spirited future. Coming from a fatherless family with 5 children, all of us siblings found Markaz as a second home in various points of our life. It fed us, clothed us, taught us, and encouraged us to be more than just a ghost of our past selves. In its hallways we grew up, in its classrooms we imbibed the good of the world, in its dormitories we blossomed into better human beings. It made me who I am today- helping me earn a doctor's degree. I'm sure this would have been altogether impossible without being able to grow up with like minded peers, and receiving not only the gift of education, but also knowledge- be it worldly, moral or spiritual. I am truly a child of Markaz- hopeful, spiritual, disciplined, and ambitious. This I owe to God and my role model Sheikh A.P Aboobacker Musliyar.

The life in Thurkiyya Orphanage(currently known Ryhan valley ) has been a benchmarked experience throughout the moments in my later life. From the very beginning of Markaz itself , I was very much privileged to become an inmate. Being an orphan boy,who was not subject to any moral obligation and social committment, I would have gone astray if I was deprived the love and care which markaz and our beloved godfather shaikuna usthad extended towards thousands of students like me. At markaz ,we were not only fed and sheltered, but a benevolent stream of compassion and mercy prevailed in every aspect. The enthusiasm energised by the feeling of safeguard and togetherness fuelled our dreams and ambitions, so that each and every one of us could acheive their ultimate goals in life despite the hardships and nulliness of our family backgrounds.

Having had a financially disadvantaged childhood and the responsibilities of a household entrusted to me at a very young age, I wouldn't have been able to achieve any of my current successes without the kindness and generosity of Markaz. Markaz looked after my physical, emotional and spiritual needs and allowed me to focus on my studies without distractions. Today I am proud to say that I'm a fortunate alumni of Markaz. I have worked in the NRHM, I'm currently the executive director of Imtibish healthcare and associate professor of Markaz unani medical college. None of this would have been possible without the benevolence of Shaikuna Ustad.

It was hard to find an orphanage running with all facilities under ahlusunna at that time. Markaz orphanage was providing hygienic food, dress and accommodation along with the job oriented study for orphans at that time and the Markaz was a pioneer in this field. The primary, secondary and higher secondary education provided by Markaz motivated me to study in the field of Science and Technology and dreamed me to achieve this profession. Markaz and A.P Usthad along with other teachers in the institutes played a major role in moulding me during my childhood days to live in a multicultural society, which given me strength to survive in various stages of my career especially during the study at Aligarh Muslim University and Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. Physics was my favourite subject during my high school and higher secondary school due to the best teachers at Markaz. I still remember my beloved physics teachers Nazar master in high school, Abdul Gafoor master and Firoz master in higher secondary classes. The nostalgic taste of sambar on Thursdays, chicken biriyani from Kunjidhu Haji on first Sunday, etc. are still giving me sweet memories. My life, mind, body, and soul refresh and renew, whenever I revisit the Markaz alone, with classmates and with family.

Markaz Thurkkiyya Orphanage: A Shelter where I spent my fruitful years of childhood. Markaz is just not a place to earn the qualification or a degree but to be groomed holistically and morally. Markaz nurtures talents that make the world a better living place with its moral values and ethics. Markaz gave inspiration and motivation for upgrading the underprivileged persons like me to the front line citizen of this society under the guidance of usthad Shiekh Aboobacker Ahmad. I am very much grateful to my teachers and friends for making my life changing journey so beautiful and meaningful.
